Good skincare is more than just selecting the right products. Keep reading for my favourite Tropical Healthy Gut Smoothie Recipe
Skin doesn’t owe its glow to just an array of skincare goodies and the latest hear-say product. It’s also about proper hydration, nutrient-rich foods, and healthy choices. For radiant results, we must also nourish our bodies from the inside out, and that’s why a holistic approach to beauty is the only way I recommend. Want to know how you can eat your way to glowing skin? Let me show you…
While it doesn’t sound too glamorous, your gut is the system in your body that is most directly linked to your skin’s health. It´s a proven fact, and it’s why what we eat and food quality can affect our skin.
Did you know that how your skin looks right now is a reflection of your overall well-being?
From the balance of your hormones and the state of your digestive system to the nutrient power of your diet, each plays a vital role in the health of your skin and can either accelerate or slow the ageing process.
Beautifully balanced
We all look and feel our best when our body is balanced – which is why an all-around, holistic approach to beauty is the only way to a long-term beauty solution.
Paying attention to what we put into our body will show on the outside by reducing the root cause of irritation, inflammation, and imbalances, all of which speed up the skin ageing process.
The good news is when we’re lacking in something, our skin will generally let us know.
When I am working with my clients, I encourage them to become familiar with their skin and complexion. If they identify any unwelcome changes, I can guide them on what action to take to bring everything back into balance.
Eating clean and consciously
Selecting foods that are kind to your gut will help you to maintain a vibrant and glowing complexion. The relationship between your gut and your skin is very powerful and needs nurturing.
This relationship is referred to as the gut-skin axis – something I cover in great depth within my EKD FaceWardrobe® personalised group coaching course that I launch once a year.
Caring for your digestive system with gut-friendly foods ensures the nutrients you are putting into your body are adequately absorbed. It’s also an effective way to maintain your complexion and slow the ageing process.
When you make the healthy choice and reach for the unprocessed, organic, antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies, seats, nuts and spices, your skin will thank you – trust me. In fact, my methodology breaks it down step by step, so the whole thing is laid out for you. With my clients, we create a holistic beauty roadmap that works for THEIR skin, THEIR style and THEIR life.
If you´re tired of buying products that don’t solve the problem, if you´re overwhelmed with the options, if you´re interested in the benefits a holistic approach to skincare can achieve, then here are my top 3 skin-nourishing tips to get you started:
My top 3 tips for glowing skin
1 – Hydrate
Start your day with a glass of filtered, boiled water that has been slightly cooled, with a squeeze of lemon or a splash of organic apple cider vinegar. This ensures the water is properly absorbed into your body and promotes a healthy bowel movement first thing in the morning.
2 – Take a Prebiotic and Probiotic
Your gut contains trillions of bacteria – some of which are good and some of which are bad. A daily prebiotic and probiotic help ensure good bacteria are thriving. These supplements help us maintain our gut’s health, which will be reflected in the health of our skin.
3 – Eat Clean
When you’re eating to nourish your skin, it’s essential to remove packaged and processed foods from your diet. Instead, reach for whole foods, nutrient-rich meals, organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and pasture-raised, wild or grass-fed animal proteins.
